EVENTS

NAS Oceana HRT Summer Bus Tours -- Although we enjoy good attendance on
these tours, very few local citizens take advantage of this opportunity to see their tax dollars at work and learn more about what Oceana does.  Many of these people are only aware of the unfavorable press received thru the media.  When the opportunity occurs, talk up the tours with your neighbors and any other social or professional groups you belong to and encourage them to take the tours.  Tours are offered Monday thru Friday from 16 June thru 29 August at 0900 and 1130.  Cost is $7.50 per person and $5 for seniors, children under 12 and persons with disabilities.  The 1130 tour includes lunch at the NAS Oceana Officer's Club.  Prices for the lunch are $8.75 for the buffet and $7.75 for soup and salad.  Gratutity is included in the
price.  There is a gift shop located at the Air Park.  Buses depart from the Kiosk at 24th and Atlantic and for those who are not aware of the program, all tour guides are volunteer local HRANA members.  All persons 16 and over must have picture ID cards.  Backpacks are not permitted and photography is permitted only at the Historical Air Park.  Tours do not run on federal holidays.  There is a city parking lot on 25th street which is only one block or two blocks from the kiosk, depending on which personnel entrance you use.  Access to the parking lot is from 25th street.
